If you live within Aalborg Municipality, you can access these databases from home with your library login (CPR number and PIN).

You have free access to all content unless otherwise specified in the description of the database. 

You can use the databases either through a browser or - for some databases - an app. Some facilities in the databases are not supported by Internet Explorer. Please remember to update the app whenever a new version is released.

Access Science

Icon Description

Articles, dictionaries and biographies covering natural science. Videos and animations support the texts.

Ancestry Library

Genealogical database with names and information from more than 4.000 collections and databases.

Comprehensive and regularly updated dictionary with articles, biographies, country information, statistics, illustrations and videos.

Ebook Central

Icon Description

Find both fiction and non-fiction on a wide range of topics for all ages. All 32.000 e-books are in English.

Instructions

  1. Go to Ebook Central, click "Se online" and log in with your library login (CPR and PIN).
  2. Search and start reading the book you need
  3. Alternatively, you can create an account and download Adobe Digital Edition which is available for free. This gives you access to downloading 10 books for 2 weeks to read offline, create bookshelves and bookmarks as well as downloading chapters – up to 60 pages
  4.  Alternatively, you can download the app Bluefire Reader (costs 25 kr) if you want to read on your tablet or phone. Log in to the app with your profile credentials

Europa World

Icon Description

Political and economic information about more than 250 countries and 1.700 international organizations. Contains interactive and visual facilities for comparison of countries based on statistics.

Explora

Icon Description

Find full-text articles on nearly all topics in English from acclaimed magazines like American History, ComputerWorld, Foreign Affairs, History Today, New Yorker, NewsWeek, PC World, Scientific American, Time and Vanity Fair.

Gale in Context - Biography

Use it to find information about famous authors, poets, musicians, actors and historical figures - from around the world.  You will find news, articles, websites and pictures.

PressReader lets you keep track of news from more than 100 countries all around the globe. The newspapers – and some magazines - are available in a PDF format the same morning they are published.
